| I have the worst time w/ these plants. For the nth time, I see them at the nursery in glorious full bloom glory, and I buy them because of the great flower colors, only to have them begin to decline soon after. Plse advise what they want for abundant bloom (is all summer possible?) Do i remember that they peter out in heat and then come back in fall? thanks much.

I have mine in full sun and they bloom all summer. I deadhead them too. I fertilize them with Miracle Grow for Roses. They seem to like that.

They are perennials grown by the side of the freeways in Phoenix Arizona sooooo full sun and heat and not too much water or fertilizer would be my advice.

I also read what you said. Also mine petered out even before mid summer the two times I planted. I wonder if the those several almost 90 degree days sent them a slow down signal....but maybe you are just wondering and haven't planted yet. Also read some new introductions are supposed to be more heat tolerant. I'll wait till the reports on that are in before I spend more money. mt

Last summer I suckered for those beautiful blooms in the nursery. They looked great for the first month, then it was a daily deadheading chore and the flowers got smaller and smaller. This time I vow not to be taken in by those cheery nursery blooms again.
