Forget me Not-Not looking so good

Could I ask what you all may think happened to my Forget me Not plant? It took over my garden beautifully at the beginning of Spring and even came up in different areas, but it's just not looking so good anymore? Is it done blooming for the season and should I just cut it back? Thanks for all your responses in advance :)

its biennial... a seedling year one.. flowers like crazy year two ... its gone to seed ...

and will die in a few weeks..

and by fall.. you will want to remember those hairy leaves.. because your next crop will have begun...

one of the most appropriately named plants.. ever. ..

ken

ps: you can harvest the seed and save them.. or spread them around ...

Lots of seeds to harvest on that forget-me-not, which as ken says is done for the season. Cut it back - it'll shortly turn into a really dark, crispy, dead looking thing - but scatter the cuttings wherever you might want them to sprout. Very welcome plant in my gardens - I have them everywhere and they're just picking up real steam here now. Easy to pull up if they land somewhere inconvenient.

I just pull them up and compost them. The act of pulling scatters enough seed for them to return next year. Really not worth cutting back as it will die anyway. Nor worth the the bother of actively collecting the seed unless you want to sow it some distance away.

I also pull them and tap the plant on the ground in other areas where I want plants next spring. I like to make a river of blue winding through my back bed.

I like that too. Brush up against one that is going to seed and the seed capsules cling to your clothes, dropping off and spreading all over the place. I look at them as an embarrassment of riches. I seem to have few more white ones this season and only a rare few pink so far.
