I have random burdock weeds popping up in the (mostly dry) retention pond area behind my yard.... which typically get mowed down before they go to seed... but one popped up in my perennial bed last year and I left it cause the leaves were nice and large... and I had no idea as to what it was at the time.
So this year it's putting up the giant leaves which get 18inch or larger. Once I found out what it was this year, I cut the flower stalk... which you can now see has sent side shoots up at the top. I will cut these back too at some point.
It's been a great looking weed in the garden! I might have to dig up some seedlings and move them to the beds to have more next year.
