| Hi there,
My Sweet Autumn Clementis got away from me this year and I didn't cut it back! It's growing up the side of the garage and I'd like to guide it across the front overhang of the garage as well. I don't want to put up anything too unsightly, but thought that a simple wire might be too thin. And, chicken wire would be a project to cut to size along the width of the garage. I'd love any suggestions as I think it would look so nice growing in this manner, especially when it blooms in the Fall. Thanks! Jan |

| I have used both plastic chains to make swags and copper poles to make tripods. You could run copper pipes horizontally to make a good support. If you could attach pieces of wood drilled to be able to thread the pipes through to provide a support, they would work nicely. The copper quickly turns brown and disappears in the foliage. Or you could attach large hooks and swag the chains across the area where you vant the clematis to grow. |

| High test fishing line. If it'll hold a 100+ pound marlin, it'll hold a clematis! It also doesn't heat up in sun like wire does and it is pretty nearly invisible as well. |

| Great ideas...thank you! |

| Just wanted to share that I bought a package of pest netting...very thin and almost invisible when you are standing away and looking at it. We guided the vines (talk about intertwined and messy) along and around this netting. Hoping that it will stay up for the season! |
