Echinacea Collection

Here's the main bed of echinacea. The paradoxa and pallida becomes a larger and larger clump every year. Pallida is one of my favorite, though as the season goes you do need to add a peony ring or the like to keep them up.

This is the secondary bed that i seeded last year with my own collection of "who know's what" crosses. I have gotten some standard purple types, but also some neat crosses.

Cross1- (looks like a either a pallia or tennesseensis with a standard.. who knows.

Cross2- This one starts out nice and orange with long tapered petals. The after a week fades to a paradox looking form. The leaf structure is different from paradoxa, so definitely a cross of some form.

Very nice! I especially like that Meringue. Have all of these overwintered well for you? What zone are you in, if you don't mind my asking?

Beautiful pics and coneflower gardens! Thanks for sharing
