Everytime I visit garden centers these beauties are listed as annuals. I am honored to have them return every year at my home.

Very nice. The Shasta's come back...why not the Gerber's? |
RE: gerber daisy

They look better than mine in zone 9 California

Mine do too! I have the same color as yours, with the pink - magenta and yellow undersides. Wonder what their name is?

Yep, the Dutchies have been putting these new hardy gerberas out - garvineas - which withstand much lower temperatures than the older African daisies beloved of florists. I dunno, they don't exactly light my fire but a couple of my customers love them......

Hmmm, and African daisies are sold as perennials here in contrast to the "annual" gerberas. Ironic. Personally, I like both. African daisies come in some gorgeous colors. I don't care for the foliage of the gerberas at all, though. But I like the blooms enough to overlook that.

Anyo.e know if the gerberas would come back in zone 6? I would love to have some but haven't tried because they are alwe classified as annuals here. Thanks, Amna

I had two last year and they didn't come back this year.

Glen, are you taking pictures at my house? I have two colors of gerberas - the one in your first picture and the yellow! Maybe we just both have good taste in color :)

I love these daisies. Here are some different ones.

Have always enjoyed Gerbera. They don't always do well up at my folks' place. Wonder if the combination of heat and humidity is the reason?
