Perennial questions for bed garden bed...

I was wondering if you could take a look at these snapshots I took of my May Night Salvia, and my Dwarf Coreopsis and see if there is anything you can detect to why only one of my Salvias is blooming, while the other ones have just had bare stocks for a long time now, and the 2 out of the 3 Coreopsis has been getting blooms, but the 3rd has not done anything. I guess this is more of a question as too if I should be "deadheading" to maybe kick things into gear? I thought I did that with the Salvia, and new stocks seemed to have been growing, but now they just aren't doing anything.

Here is my 1 Salvia that has started to bloom:

And now the two that aren't blooming:

And now the Coreopsis in bloom:

...And the one that isn't....it's in the front right:

Both of those salvia plants bloomed previously, or were in bloom when you bought them? Nothing mysterious here, they are settling in to their new environs and just need a little time. Cutting off those old flower stalks may help promote new blooms, as would keeping them watered and fertilized.

Mostly though, just time and patience.

Yes, they had a couple of blooms when I bought them, but they quickly went away....I haven't seen any since. Yeah, mostly wasn't sure if I should cut those stalks off or not....if new growth would appear on those existing stalks, or if fresh ones need to sprout in order to have blooms.
