Hi folks,

Will they make it if they are in full sun for 10 hours a day?

Thanks,

Neil

sure they will, in your zone. mine in 5b are in full sun and do just fine. no worries! with 10 hours of sun they may need watering now and then...

I agree. I have a patch that were planted in full sun, the previous owner tells me, in the mid 1960's. It has been divided many times and keeps on growing and blooming. The foliage looks good all summer long.

Thank you much! I'll divide them in spring and transplant as well.

Yep - a number of my neighbors and I are all growing them in full sun with no supplemental water and they perform well year in and year out. I now have several winter sown cultivars that bloom white making a lovely contrast with the species blue/purple. Have at it, Neil!!

I'd suggest fall division. They take a long time to recover well. And,yes, full sun here too.
