I just bought some purple cone flowers a couple of weeks ago. I transposed them into a pot and put on my front porch, which faces east and gets the longest sunlight. I have been watering when I feel the soil is getting too dry. There have been new buds appear, but now the stalks are drooping and some of the leaves are dying. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Please help!

a transplanted plant is in shock.. and probably not take full sunshine immediately after transplant ... you probably should have left it in shade for a few days.. to let the roots start pumping water to maintain the leaves ... move it bright shade immediately .. and see if it cant recover before you start moving it back to full sun ... basically .... w/o a pic .. you sunburned leaves that were not getting enough water from roots which were disturbed by transplant ... ken

@yr02701 I share your pain and anguish. About 3 weeks ago I received a Tiki Torch and Hot Lava via mail order. Both plants were transplanted into 3 gallon sized containers filled with 3:1 MiracleGro Potting Mix and cottonboll compost. Both were shaded for a few days before moving them to direct sun and both survived (Hot Lava existed) until two days ago when I watered them. Hot Lava almost immediately began turning brown so I repotted it into a smaller container with dampened MG potting mix only and gave it a drink of Shultz transplanting solution to help with the shock. It wilted slightly but we had rain last night and it got wet. Today it has turned almost completely brown and I don't think it will survive. I hope you have better luck than I did. It appears that small Cones prefer very little water until established. Good luck.
