Do shasta daisy superbum multiply quickly?

sorry, I'm really tired and can't think straight. I just bought the tall variety of shasta daisies - superbum? something like that. It says it should get 36-48" tall and it's not quite there yet. Still in its' pot as it's 100 degrees out tomorrow.
My sister has a huge patch of tall daisies that I really like, but I don't know if I got the same variety or not.
Is there another tall variety out there?
How fast will these multiply? So I know how much space I need when planting it.
My short variety daisies that I've had 4 years haven't seemed to spread much at all. I'm hoping these tall ones will.
Thanks!

My one and only superbum has been in the ground for 6 years and it is still my one and only. Hasn't spread a bit. The plant has 'matured' from its quart size pot to a nice robust 36 tall by about 24 wide clump, but I wouldn't call that 'spread'.

hmmm, that's what I was afraid of. Should've bought more while I was there so I can form a nice clump of them. Well, now I have an excuse to go back to the nursery! :)

My Shasta "Alaska" spreads well and needs to be divided often. From one plant years ago, I now have them all over the yard.

njmomma! I've been looking for you in the daylily forum & had lost your email. Just wanted to let you know the daylilies you sent me last fall are looking great, a couple getting ready to bloom!

HI ngraham! I'm so glad you found me! I switched computers over the winter and lost all the notes I had on it... my garden notes. I don't remember what I sent you but I'm glad they are doing well.

I've been purposefully staying away from the Daylily forum in an attempt to curb my addiction. (I do wander over there for some eye candy sometimes) I'm trying to make room for some roses and other perennials so I'm slowly giving away some daylilies. I've given away 8 so far to my friends.
I'm finding it very hard to say good-bye to them, but my space is only so big. I still have 90+ varieties and I want to cut that back to 60! HA! How will I ever do that???

I'm sure I'll make my way over to the DL forum once mine take off. So far, many buds but only one started today, Happy Returns.

See you around the forums! :)
