| Has anyone used this patch with any luck? I bought 5 patches for about $7 and each one is supposed to keep mosquitos at bay for 36 hours. You stick it on your skin about 2 hours before you're ready to go out. But it smells funny so I haven't plucked up the courage to use it yet... I'd hate to end up repelling humans as well!
I remember reading about the OFF clip that Michelle started to use with success, but this patch is just

I have not heard of this patch. If it's just B1, why not just take B1 vitamins orally? I normally take a multi B. I have found that when I am scrupulous about taking them, I have less problems with mosquitos. I haven't yet made the effort to just take more B1, though it would make sense to try it.

I thought of that too but the manufacturers say because it goes through your digestive system its not as efficient - maybe you'd have to take loads of it. I don't know, its worth a try and a heck of a lot cheaper!

Maybe we should each try the tablets, and report back to each other? Unscientifically....I do an art fair every year (I am an artist) that is set in a Botanic Garden. My booth is in deep shade, and I hear artists swatting and complaining every year. One year (about 10 years ago) I was not bothered, and mentioned it to my booth neighbor. She asked if I was taking B vitamins, said she did, and was never bothered by them. But you had to start taking them in advance, not just on the day of exposure. After that, I made a point of talking the B at least a week before the show. This is not a double blind experiment, so is unscientific, but I do think it helps. I try to take the multi B in general, and I believe I did buy the B1 alone last year.

Great idea, Linnea! Sounds like there's something to it, based on your experience. I'll pick some tablets on the weekend and let you know how it goes!
