I recently planted a hedge of lavender (dentata) and pruned the plants a few weeks later, then some days after several plants had yellow and drooping leaves (the ones pruned most severely) so I started watering the plants more often and that fixed the drooping, however the plants still have yellow and browning foliage at the lower portions of the plant. They have new green growth and are starting to bloom, but they look unsightly with the yellow foliage. Can I pick those leaves off and have them regrow? Or will they revert to green with time?

I can't answer you other questions, but yellow leaves will not turn green again. Pick 'em off if you want. Kevin

how about you step back.. and quit trying to love them to death.. lol the yellow leaves will not recover.. AND WILL FALL OFF THEMSELVES ... you cut off a bunch of the energy making leaves.. at a time it needed the energy to grow new roots... and they are reacting.. stressing [they might even be afraid of you] proper water is all they need.. and no.. feeding them.. will not help.. never feed a stressed plant ... planting should have been done months ago.. to avoid many of these issues.. part of your base problem ... is that you planted/moved them.. right as the high heat of summer started.. had you done this earlier in spring.. they would not have been as stressed.. TIMING is imperative ... so next time.. time it out a bit better.. and you and the plant.. will not be as stressed out.. lol you can mail order plants at proper planting time.. if the local suppliers cant help you ... ken

In an effort to make them look better with water, be sure not to over water them. Lavender does NOT like "wet feet".

leaves turning yellow from the bottom is a sign of too much water.
