My fuchsia and white dianthus flowered their little heads off, but now I see only the occasional flower here and there. Will there be a second flush of flowers like my gorgeous dwarf snapdragons, or it that it for the season?

That's it.

AS you noted, you'll see the occasional bloom, but nothing like the initial flush.

They can surpise you though here in zone 5. I gave mine up for dead after one year flush. Three years later (this year) they suddenly came up and bloomed their full heads off after giving no sign of life for three years. Just an interesting tidbit I thought I'd add.

Are these annual or perennial dianthus? The perennial ones for me put out an occasional flower after the first major flush. I wait till most blooming is done, then give them a haircut with scissors. Those are in a dryish full sun location. I have been buying annual dianthus, because for some reason it acts as a perennial in my main garden, which is more moisture retentive than the perennial ones seem to like. Not all of them live, but I have been impressed. I have some huge clumps now, which bloom at the same time as alpine columbines.
