This sunshine vine (have no idea what the Latin is, picked it up in the bargain bin and didn't ask any questions) has decided to climb our extension cord rather than the trellis and we didn't notice until it was too late to unwrap it! Haha! No big deal, it can stay there, but it made me laugh!!

Sneaky vine! It's Thunbergia alata btw.

So interesting how a vine which cannot "see" can find what it wants to hang onto. Maybe you should have a chat with it about that trellis thingy.

Maybe it's a "male" vine...taking the path of least resistance/effort; I would imagine the cord would be easier to grab onto than a wood lattice that is attached to a wide board. j/k

Hahahaha. You all made me laugh! Gardening always has something to laugh about. Thanks for sharing my giggles. And thank you, Flora, for the ID!

Must be one of those power plants. ;^) How about this drama. The gulf fritillary caterpillars often climb to the brick overhang to enter their next life stage. The passion vine obviously wanted to extract a bit of revenge during it's immobile period. But just as the branch grew long enough to send a tendril reaching for it...the butterfly emerged this morning and escaped!
