Last year I planted three Pow Wow cone flowers. Two of the three are blooming beautifully, but as for the third.... take a look. Any idea what is going on?

Google - "Aster yellows"

That's probably what's wrong with the plant. It should be destroyed and there's a good chance your others will develop the same disease. Sorry for the bad news.

It's called Aster Yellows. You should get rid of it to help prevent spread to the other two.

Two years ago I lost all six of E. 'pow-wow' to Aster yellows!
All my other echinaceas are disease free...

None of my Pow Wow plants have had it, and I've had them for three years.

Thanks for the information! I never heard of aster yellows before. The diseased one is removed; time will tell about the other two. I'm assuming I shouldn't put a new plant in the hole anytime soon....

That's quite the perfectly aster yellow'ed plant!

The virus can only live in living plant tissue.... Not in the soil... So you should be good to replant.
