Is there ever free shipping from those catalogs?

I see Spring Hill has a one cent sale. I'd like to buy some of their items, but the shipping is always so high.
Do you ever see free shipping from these mail order catalogs?

Spring Hill and affiliated companies (Breck's, etc.) are the worst vendors around. Check out their feedback on Garden Watchdog.

Ken,
They have 'Buy one (dead stick) at full price - get the second one for 1 cent" sale.

so .. doing the math.. you are paying 50% each for two sticks..

and you still want free postage.. lol

let me tell you something .... bargains.. IN HAND... can be evaluated.. and odds assessed ...

bargains from unknown vendors.. you may as well expect to lose on the deal ...

if you have a prior experience.. and know the vendor.. go for it..

but i would hesitate on trying new vendors at bargain time

Quality plants come from quality catalogs. In fact, many of the finest quality catalogs require you to pay for the catalog itself. Then you get it free for as long as you order and a year or two after that. And the shipping is usually extremely high. But you get fabulous plants in fabulous condition.

Since shipping is especially high here I always see if they have it locally first (or in Seattle when I visit). You might also try seeing if one of your local nurseries could order it from their supplier for you.

They have to make money somehow.
They're not going to offer a 1 cent sale AND free shipping. You gotta figure, to ship priority, it's going to cost a minimum of $5.

I recently placed my first order with Santa Rosa Gardens I was very happy with the product, the quality shipping methods, the follow-up on order info etc.

they had a super sale for items at 2.99 and if you ordered 100.00 you received free shipping.

I got 34 new plants for 100.00. couldn't beat it. I would recommend them.

when you order from Bluestone, the plants come packed with biodegradable foam peanuts. Mail back the peanuts (use the original packing box, if you wish) and they will ship your next order for free.
Even after paying to mail back the box filled with peanuts, I alwasy save a substantial amount of postage.
