Today's discovery....

The "lovely" sick dog was back, and it looks like he may be feeling alittle worse today.....

(Gag)

I have to wonder...is this an ongoing thing once it starts?

My, oh, my ! Aren't you the lucky one! I am so jealous!

Well, it looks like you have provided quite the happy home for these little ------- whatever they really are. I suspect you should start seeing them in your kitchen, bath and bedroom shortly. (OK, just kidding. I think.)

I would suspect conditions in your yard must be ideal right now and that's why you're seeing them. I doubt it will last all summer.

Really - I find these things fascinating!

Did you do any reading about them?
Did you realize they MOVE?
From one of the slime mold websites:
"This creeping fungus moves very slowly in amoeboid fashion."

Don't stand still too long.

I've actually been able to tell one slid to the right a few centimeters in a fairly short period of time (minutes or hours) by using "landmarks" on the mulch.

had it this spring-in our dry climate usually disappeared(literally) in a day or two. would then reappear in another part of the veg garden-it is startling isnt it?
