I've seen Mrs. Bradshaw and that is way too orange for where I'd like to plant this. Are there any geums out there that are a true red?
Follow-Up Postings:

mmm, cannot really think of a geum which is on the crimson side of red - my Mrs Bradshaw is a long-flowering (if a little sparse) clear scarlet. Some of the geum rivale such as Pink Frills or Leonard's Variety tend towards deep pinky russet tones but the clearest colours are found in the chiloense types.

Red Dragon is red. Geums need to be divided frequently, otherwise they will not bloom well and will be short-lived.

Thanks for the info! Wieslaw, I planted 'Totally Tangerine' last year and it's been a wonderful plant this year. Should I divide it in the fall or can I wait one more year?

a2zmom, Bob Brown, the owner of Cotswold Garden Flowers , recommends '3 years or so'. Check the link below under Geum Blazing Sunset

But after finishing flowering in the spring there have been no flowers since. Has that been your experience with your TT this season as well? |

Rouge, mine bloomed May through mid-June, but not past that point. But I didn't deadhead this plant really so I'll see what happens next year. Even if it really is only a spring bloomer, the flowers are so pretty that I don't mind.
|
Well I did deadhead my TT geum and not a single additional flower. Tons of flowers for about 3 weeks to a month and then none after.

Geum 'Double Bloody Mary' is a great true red. I also very much like both Geum rivale and triflorum for their smokey coral coloring and the interesting seed heads. Much shorter bloom season however.
