Is penstemon worth transplanting?

I have some penstemon that I would like to transplant but then I read that it is a short-lived perennial. I have had it for 2 years from Bluestone (i.e, their plants are small in year 1). Is it worth moving for just one more season of productivity? It does not have a really long bloom time but is nice while blooming.

Yes! I think they are nice even without blooms, especially Dark Towers. The seed pods are dark too! I've had more people ask me what plant they are!

Next Spring, just take a few cuttings and root them in water. I keep my plants going that way.
