use of electronic memo pad to keep track of things to do

Even though it is summer I have thought of several things that are best done in the fall. Much more often than not I have my phone on my person so when a future gardening job comes to mind I quickly type it in as memo on my blackberry.

For example, earlier this spring I noticed that there were too few dafs on one side of the garden so I made an e-memo to plant some there this fall. Today I realized that it would free up some space if I shifted a few perennials a foot over. Of course I couldnt/shouldnt do it now but fall will be just fine...another BB memo etc.

i refuse to allow the kids outside with the ipods..

mostly because.. sooner or later.. it is going to be left in the garden ...

you think you wont do that???? .. ya know.. that one weed you need both hands for.. lol ...

but seriously ... dont you garden to go zen on the electronic stresses of the day.. and now you are electrifying your garden ... hmmmm

this is starting to sound like an old un-funny Seinfeld skit.. lol ..

bottom line: if it works.. you win.. good idea...

My Iphone might be my best garden tool...
Keep my data base of plants
Look up all kinds of gardening info
Take pictures of plants
Use the level function when I build something
Post in gardenweb
Play lively music to drown out other noise and keep me dancing through the garden!
Get calls/emails to sell my extra plants on craigslist
Lose it in the garden? LOL, unlike other tools, it fits in my pocket. And I can always call it if I do lose it (unlike my favorite trowel).
Garden to go zen on electronic stresses? No, garden to go zen on worrying, of which most is people based.

Just like mytime my phone is always in my pocket so no chance of losing it and always there when I need it.

Most of my "to do" thoughts occur to me as I am browsing forums late at night so I do keep a list of upcoming chores in my Dropbox.
But no way do I take technology outside with me when I garden- I go out there to escape the damn things, not bond with them. My time gardening is too precious to carry a freaking phone- I found it a huge compromise to even wear a wristwatch, lol.

No...just more evidence this forum's lack of even basic customizability (I know this isnt a real word). So obvious that one should be able to delete multiple identical posts.
