| I am having a problem with a butterfly bush--Buddleia davidii "pink delight". The leaves are drying up and dropping off. Last summer it did the same thing, and I thought it might be because I didn't water it enough. But this summer, the same thing is happening, even though I've been watering it more often. The only difference is that, this year, the leaves haven't fallen off as quickly or as much. But they're still falling off.
It is planted in area that gets full, direct sun all afternoon. Perhaps it's getting too much sun? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks. |

| Too much sun is definitely not the issue. Could you have a vole or mole digging under the plant? Has something chewed on or invaded the trunk? Could be underwatering or overwatering. Where the leaves are dying, break off a bit of stem to see if it's still green inside. You may want to strike some cuttings to eventually try them in different locations around your yard, just in case. (It's my policy to always have more than 1 BB since they are notorious for dying in the off-season.) Are you able to share a pic? |
