Recent purchases

Now that weather has cooled, have made some purchases to replace lost/underperforming plants

Eupatorium pink frost: great variegation
Iberis amethyst: lavender flowers in late spring. This will replace some dianthus I lost, since I have Iberis alexander in same bed
Euphorbia bonfire
Euphorbia ascot rainbow

This is a raised bed but gets sprinklers 3 times a week, how important is drainage to euphorbia? The bed has decent drainage but moist soil.

* Hibiscus "Brandy Punch" - to replace the one the sprinkler installers trampled (I moved the rootball of the poor thing but it hasn't re-sprouted yet, maybe it will be back next year but who knows).

* Japanese painted fern - saw a couple nice silvery specimens, figured I could use them somewhere...

That's about it. I would like to get another "Pink Poodle" echinacea, I very much like the one I have, I have to get back to the nursery to see them in bloom (make sure the blooms are as they should be).

I also have to get another Bluebeard shrub, mine is dying a slow, unattractive death, I think it's due to over-watering (new sprinklers and all - I think I was over-doing it the first couple weeks) - and I really enjoy this shrub in the fall in this particular spot.

===>>> i cant answer that.. except in the converse ...

i cant recall the name of my yellow and green standard ...

on mineral sand.. with no water.. or anything .. for 8 years ... in this miserable MI summer ... its nearly an invasive weed in my garden .... self seeding.. and running across a 50 foot bed .. only tamed with roundup ...

sooo.. i can tell you it likes drainage.

and benign neglect.. apparently..

lol

So I can nurture it into being well behaved :)

Anyone tried Eupatorium pink frost yet?
