 o
alstroemeria...perennial or annual?

I went to a garden center the other day and the person that worked there could not tell me whether an alstroemeria (princess) is a perennial or annual. I do live in New England and we can have harsh winters. It's a beautiful plant but I'm looking to plant something in the front of my house and not having to transport it inside for the winter. If I planted one would it die or would it come back next year?

There are several Alstroemeria that are hardy to zone 6 or even 5 (Sweet Laura, Mauve Majesty). Others are tender and will be annuals for you.
