Echinaceas that won't 'revert'

I've been lurking on the forums as usual, and in a lot of the thread about echinaceas I've read that sometimes echinaceas will 'revert' back to their basic form (the straight species). In your experiences, I'd like to know which echinaceas won't do this. I prefer the older varieties, so anything that you haven't had in your garden for at least 3 years I don't trust. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but I just don't trust a lot of the newer varieties (in particular the Terra Nova introductions).

i don't think any of the new echinaceas will revert. Many times what will happen is that they will set seed at the base of the parent hybrid. That seed may have crossed back with the standard form. The standards are lot more robust, so in short order they will overtake the original hybrid. But it looks like the pant is "reverting".

Razzmataz has reverted this year for the first time.

many of the double forms will not be fully double when they aren't don't their best/had a ruff winter/bad weather conditions/etc... but i don't know if that is reverting per say.

Double decker plants from seed won't be fully double the first and second year. Again, don't know the science on it.. but i would want to see a yellow or red hybrid become a standard purple completely in color before i would say that that it reverted.

others might chime in on more details

This is an interesting thread to me as I didn't know that they would revert until this year! I have always loved Razzmataz so was very surprised at what happened to it.
I've had it for about 8 years. It's the only double I have.
I'll certainly watch it (and baby it) closely next year.

Most of the flowers on it look like a regular single.
