Also, can anyone identify this tree? It has flat yellow seedpods -so thinking this is NOT Libernum?

In addition, it might also be helpful to include a photo of the leaves and even the bark of the trunk.

Look up Chinese Umbrella Tree - I have one similar with the green trunk and seed pods right now. Mine has been in the ground probably about 12 years, is at least 30 feet tall.

Maybe Koelreuteria paniculata Golden Rain Tree?

Not Koelreuteria with flat seed pods and palmate leaves. I agree with oggrose, Firmiana simplex.

Maybe I am wrong. Based on this posting from the University of Alabama at Huntsville - this is not a Chinese Parasol. Is there more than one variety?

I don't see any information at that link which militates against the tree being Firmiana simplex. What is it that has put doubt in your mind?
