Flag flower bed

I have a rectangular flower bed that is full sun all day. Was wondering if any one had ideas for red, white and blue perennial ground covers that would bloom spring and summer (or at least summer) that I could use to make a flag out of this bed?

I think your aim should be small, upright plants instead of ground covers, which will entangle so much after the first year, your flag would be barely recognizable.

white = Iberis (candytuft)

in my estimate ... your problem is going to be the blue flowers..

I would stick with annuals in this case.

When I reviewed my list of blue perennials yesterday and didn't find any, there was something about the list I couldn't quite put my finger on. I looked at it again today and it hit me - they're 90% for mostly shade. The full sun ones are all too tall.
