Two-Headed Echinacea Bloom

Is this rare? I've had echinacea plants for years (both pink and white) and this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. It's like two blooms joined in the middle. I did a bit of research and one site suggested the plant may be diseased - I hope not as this is one of my favorites.
