Obedient Plant 'Miss Manners'

Hey all,

I found a half-price container of 'Miss Manners' this spring, threw it in the garden not expecting much, and got some lovely blooms from a small clump. It is quite enchanting. It is important to note that this plant can be a thuggish spreader, but 'Miss Manners' is much more timid than the original variety and will not spread by runners. I pulled the flowers from my small plant today, and have some seed that has browned and dried.

Has anyone had reseeding from this variety? Should I try with the seed (and will it need stratification) or is it just a waste of my time?

I'm afraid plants produced from this will not come back true. That wouldn't deter me as I am interested to see what the offspring would look like, except that I certainly wouldn't want this plant's aggressive genes showing up, which have been suppressed in the excellent breeding of 'Miss Manners'.

What do you think?

Elisabeth
