I bought this one and was led to believe it was a perennial but have read on a couple of sites that some have experienced it as a biennial. For those who have it what is your experience.Nice performer so far but want to know if I need to restart them every year.

Thanks!

It was a biennial or maybe a triennial when it finally flowered. It was beautiful and well worth the wait. It also seeded nicely. 2011 drought wiped them out. I did enjoy them very much. They were nicely drought tolerant just not tolerant of living in Hell. I do not see in in the nurseries like I used to or I would have re bought it or saved some seed as insurance.

I've had it return after blooming for two or three years, but it's not a reliable perennial in my garden. Nice though.

Thanks to both for the response. I am collecting seeds so it can stay in the gardens. I'll use it as a 'filler' and keep collecting seeds yearly. :O)

There is a nice pinkish variety too that I have seen that is nice. There are several varieties in that type of salvia.
