My garden has been in such transition this year and the weather nearly made it impossible to work in it. But, low and behold, it's finally looking good and I am pleased. I still have a fairly large spot to fill but will likely wait until next year. Much to my hubby's dismay, I had him yank out the spirea and did a little happy dance. I didn't even want to replant it somewhere else. Now, I just need to convince him to yank out the other 2. What was I thinking when I bought them? Here is a couple of pictures. Things are starting to get a little tired looking - it definately been a hard summer on them! Thanks for looking.

Lots of good color still in your bed.

What variety is the dark sedum next to the blue grass? They look very nice together. Good color and texture contrasts.

I also like pinks and purples.

For the most part, your plants are very soft pinks and purples which I like. I've fallen totally in love with sedums the last couple of years. The foliage is great early on and as the buds develop, they just keep getting better and better. When the flowers finally open, you just couldn't hope for anything better. I like the fact they grow really fast too. Very small plants put out in spring always seem to make a good showing by fall.

I love pinks and purples, too - particularly in the summer, they lend a cooling, calming effect. (but not warm pinks, I *hate* warm pinks!).
