Hi! I am new to gardenweb, and am trying to ID a plant that is growing in the landscaping in my front yard. I just collected small black seeds from seed pods on the plant and am trying to learn more about it for when I plant the seeds next spring. Any help is appreciated!!

Characteristics:
small, soft hairs on underside of leaves
red-orange flowers with lobed petals (5 petals)
flowers are 2cm in diameter
leaves are 9cm long
stalks with leaves and flowers are approximately 0.5m tall
growing in a rock garden in residential area in Missoula, MT
receives ~6-8 hrs of direct sunlight, rest of the day is bright shade
I'm not sure if it loses its leaves in the winter as I just moved here
flowering right now (21 Aug 2013)
