Septoria leaf spot

Hello all,
I recently purchased a garden phlox while I was in Iowa. I didn't realize until I got it home to texas that is has leaf spot. I cut away all affected leaves and replanted it in a different pot. I sprayed it with a copper soap
Fungicide. My question is, is it too risky to plant it in my perennial bed? Is there anything I can do to rid the plant completely of this and be able to plant it? It's usually very dry here but lately we've had a lot of rain. I really don't want to trash the plant but I also don't want to spread it to my other ones. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

can we see a pic???

it may have been heading toward dormancy in IA ... and i am wondering.. if its just not time to cut it back ... rather than treating a leaf disease ...

here in MI.. which is very close to IA weather wise.. i cut down moms phlox two weeks ago ... they were done for the year.. suffering from PM.. spotted leaves etc ...

in other words.. dont compare your new import.. to the status of your current plants ...

isolating it not near your others.. until those are ready to cut down.. would be approved ...

I tried uploading a pic. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I brought the phlox back about 2 weeks ago. The leaves that weren't trimmed off are now showing the same black spots.
