Corydalis Wildside Blue

It seems that the blue version of Corydalis has a reputation for not being nearly as floriferous as Lutea with it prone to going dormant. I picked up a couple of "Wildside Blue" and I cant seem to find much about it on the www (maybe under a different name?).

Has anyone here grown this particular variety?

I have killed every blue Corydalis I've tried except for elata which bloomed for months and was extremely fragrant.

Darn! I had read that 'Wildside' was a "good" blue Corydalis:

Here is a link that might be useful: Wildside

Buyorsell, Have you tried corydalis curviflora var. rosthornii 'Blue Heron' - I don't have a problem with the others dying, just going dormant in summer. They do come back when Fall rains begin until hard frost but leave a significant bare spot in the mean time (China Blue, Blue Panda, Pere David)

Blue Heron maintains a presence all season long for me in dappled shade, supplemental water. Not necessarily continuous blooming, but with attractive blue foliage, not bare dirt :). Digging Dog has a good price on them if you haven't seen it locally.

I suspect that corydalis is a much better plant on the west coast. Here, C. elata bloomed well and flourished for several years, and then suddenly petered out this year, wherever it was planted. I have found other varieties and cultivars do the same, except for C. lutea, which is a basic, cheerful weed, C. sempervirens - and I think that has been reclassified as Capnoides sempervirens and C. quant. 'Chocolate Stars', which grows well and persists, but is not very showy or attractive.

I've lost multiple blue corydalis but not sure which exact cultivars they were. I've tried them in beds and pots.

Blue Panda for sure, more than once. Blackberry Wine and Purple Leaf and the one with yellow foliage too.

I do not think I have tried Wildside Blue nor Blue Heron.

Maybe they are just not long-lived plants. I've tried the ones you listed above too. 'Blackberry Wine' was an attractive plant for a few years, and then just petered out and died.
Perhaps the plants need constant refreshing by transplanting?

I snapped this picture earlier this week of one of my "Wildside Blue" corydalis. It was planted last fall and has grown well thus far this spring.

That looks like Corydalis Elata. This will be the third year for mine and I'm going to try to collect seed this year in case it peters out.

Do you know if one blue flowered Corydalis looks much different than another?

(Knowing where I bought this plant I am quite confident that it really is a "Wildside".)

Sorry I didn't meant to imply that it wasn't Wildside, just that it looked like Elata. The difference in the plants could be a number of things including height, how it tolerates heat, etc and still have the same color blooms.

It is my understanding that "Wildside" is more vigorous ie less likely to go dormant than other blue flowering Corydalis.

elata appears to be slightly paler blue and blooms a little later than 'Wildside' in my garden. (However, I only have 'Wildside' for a couple of years.)
