Sedum Autumn Fire and Bees!

I had no idea they attracted bees so much. I probably would not have bought the plants and put them so close to my front door.

They pretty much stay on the plant and don't buzz around so I guess I'll leave it.

Just surprise -- they don't even leave when I water the plants!

I have two sedum Purple Emperor in two different spots in the garden and last week I noticed that they had bees all over them as well.
Now to find a spot for the Autumn Sedum I have in a pot that I took out of the garden bed. Was going to throw it out but rethinking that now.

I have soooo many bee varieties and small butterflies that hang out on this plant. I have an Autumn Delight as well, although it hasn't bloomed as profusely as Fire yet but it still gets attention from the pollinators!

When they are collecting nectar and pollen, they are oblivious to humans unless you grab them or step on them.

We cut down a storm-damaged palo verde that was in full bloom and the bees never stopped harvesting as we cut and shredded.

A few years ago I decided to move my S. 'Autumn Joy' one cool day in early autumn. I dug it up with a spading fork, pulled it over onto an empty potting soil bag, dragged it across the lawn from the front of my garden to the back & planted it in its new location. From start to finish there were a dozen bumblebees asleep on the blooms.

Normally I'm scared of bees. That pretty much cut my fear factor in half.
