This persicaria brightens a dark corner

I so love this plant in my garden. The leaves are arrow head shaped, foliage is bright and the flowers are long lasting. As well this particular persicaria ("Golden Arrow") is well-behaved. These two plants were previously in a too sunny location. I moved both first year plants in late July and they have thrived in this much more shady environment.

That is pretty.

I like my Persicaria virginiana 'Painter's Palette. If I cut the flowers off they do not spread. The flowers are not pretty anyway but the foliage is gorgeous.

I too like PP marquest. There are few plants with more striking foliage. I went cuckoo on them a few years back but have since removed some. But for sure seedlings arise all over although they are easy to remove.

Have Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Firetail', which I read described as "vigorous but not invasive". It's not too bad.

The one I have recently used extensively is the dwarf P. affinis 'Dimity'. It's a vigorous spreader, but useful ground cover and it's very easy to chop bits off and move them around with a spade.
I'm no friend of invasives, but am very enthusiastic about this neat little "enthusiastic spreader".

Rouge -

What is the peachy-flowered plant to the left and what is the clematis to the right?

Thanks!

Now having had "Golden Arrow" for a couple of seasons its good performance in pretty significant shade was something I wasn't expecting and so does open up lots of potential areas for planting this particular persicaria. Having said this it is not readily available for purchase.

The 'peachy' one is an annual...a "Fusion Gold Exotic Impatiens".

The clem flower is one of not very many remaining from a nearby "Polish Spirit".

Here is a link that might be useful: cool impatiens
