i bought some small mums and planted them in flower boxes on my porch, the flowers have all turned brown, and even new buds are brown before even blooming fully.. is it because of the heat? what should i do? the leafy parts are doing well..

i think you should pinch the flowers and buds that are brown off and before you know it theyll rebloom. It may be the heat, the flowers tend to suffer first. Give them more water when they are in pots and boxes because they tend to dry out quicker than in the ground.
Welcome to gardenweb! good luck!!
