| Hi,
Just back to GW after a long hiatus, and I'm wondering what the cool kids are using to search for plants these days. Some of these online nurseries--Forest Farm, Lazy S's--have amazing collections of plants, but very poor search engines to screen by zone, sun/shade situation, etc. So what do you use? Or at this point do you just have it all memorized? Thanks! |

| OK, cute, but not what I was looking for. What do you do if, for example, you want a blue flowered 12-24" plant for part shade in zone 3? Read all the books and look for those criteria? Or do you find a modern database-driven SEARCH ENGINE???? |

| i suppose i should add ... and then in google.. i flip to the IMAGES side ... and review the 20 million pix to see how it is used in various settings ... i understood your quest.. but we seem to come from opposites approaches ... i buy the plant.. then research it ... you want to research it.. and then go find it ... whichever is fine with me... good luck... welcome to GW .... i like what i see with your enthusiasm over various posts .. we need an infusion of new peeps ... to keep us going.. ken |

| The MGB Kemper Center Plant Finder lets you specify plant requirements and characteristics as well as tons of other search options like groundcover, fragrant, etc. I love it. Someone here suggested it to me a few weeks ago and it's become a place I can spend hours at! |
