| The 2 "Lemon Queen" plants have now come into their own. (Each is about 5 feet in height and almost as wide.) I had underestimated how much of a bee magnet this helianthus is. In the early morning one can see bees that have been been 'caught' in the cool weather and so have kind of hibernated all night on a flower...so cool. |

| They are huge! |
|
| Gorgeous pics, Rouge! I also love this plant. Aside from being such a great bee magnet, its stunning pale yellow color is a true standout amidst the typically hot and bold colors of fall. |
|
| Great plant for fall blooms. My two comments are that it needs at least average moisture to prevent wilting, and it will spread into a very large clump without some control measures. It also will self-seed to some degree. |

| I had this planted next to a 6 ft fence, it easily surpassed it. I loved it , but soon there were Lemon Queens all over. I finally had to chop it out. |
|
| pale yellow color is a true standout I agree completely...I love its color. |

| Hm, must be a climate thing or something. I have three clumps in my border, going on for 4 weeks without rain, just heavy soil with some kind of depot, not wilting, just the scruffy weeds at their feed are dying. They stand upright all winter, so I left them alone& chopped them down in late spring, so far no seedlings to be found. I have some clumps of Rudbeckia nitida Herbstsonne (slug bait) which I will shovel prune and replace with a LQ division. keep enjoying your lovely plants, bye, Lin |

| Hi Lin, my LQ seems to behave somewhat similar to yours ie pretty good re water conservation. (However mine may not do as well as yours in this respect as mine are right at the drip line of some major trees). I also leave them up all winter. |
