| When we bought our house 5 years ago we had a simple landscape done. It included a PeeGee standard in our front bed. I don't think the landscaper realized how much sun we get in that spot though and we didn't realize that this plant can't handle full afternoon sun in our zone (6).
The PeeGee looked great the first year, not bad the second, and then we started getting a lot of branches dying off. It's slowly dying. I'd like to dig it up this fall or next spring, move it where it can be happy again and buy something to replace it. So what would be a good standard that can withstand full afternoon sun? I saw what looked like a Euonymus standard in someone's front yard recently which might be a good choice. Any other suggestions? |

| You may wish to post this in the Shrubs forum, rather than Perennials. For what it's worth, PG hydrangeas are quite happy in full sun, so there may have been something else affecting the hydrangea. |
