Ranunculus? Anyone know about these?

I just bought some of these and need to know when to plant them. I assumed that they should be planted now (NW Ohio, zone 5), but now I am not sure. Should it be planted now or wait till spring in my area?

Thanks

Ranunculus are many things. It would be helpful if you specified which species exactly is involved. R.aconitifolius is hardy to zone 5, R.acris to zone 4.

The package says "Ranunculus Aviv Mixed". That is all I know. The picture shows flowers that look like crepe paper roses. Sorry if this is not helpful. I don't know anything about them. I bought them at a local store. Picked them because I liked the picture.

Thank You.

Description of ranunculus asiaticus (as Aviv mixed appears to be) from Missouri Botanical Gardens, others, suggests these are not winter hardy in your zone. You'd want to wait until Spring to plant.

Here is a link that might be useful: ranunculus asiaticus

Thank You. I will wait till spring. I'm glad I didn't plant them over the weekend.
