Turtlehead transplanting

Thanks to tsflowers in Indiana, I now know the name of the plant I want to move! Can anyone tell me how? It's probably a laughable question, since it's a little invasive and because it has so many seedpods, but I'm not sure if I should just rip it out this Fall (with care?) or wait until Spring - and just how 'careful' I should be. I can't remember if it spreads by rhizomes or what. I planted it about 15 years ago.

RE: Turtlehead transplanting

Chelone is one of the hard to kill perennials.
It could be moved now or any time during the growing season, but if you would like to divide it, better to do this in a spring.
