huge buttercups

User

I have always adored ranunculus...so much that I even allow the notorious ranunculus repens to ramble about freely....although I also grow R.bulbosus, R,gramineus, R.acris flore pleno, R.lingua and now, new seed has just arrived for the biggest buttercup of all - Ranunculus cortusiodes (funnily enough, a lovely little cortusa has arrived also - C.Turkestanica....if only it was called cortusa ranunculoides!)

I am thrilled at the prospect of glorious shining palmate leaves and great glowing buttercup blooms (did you do that childhood thing, holding one under your chin to see if you liked butter?)
Might have to have another go at the elusive white R,lyallii.

The first autumn seed order has been unusually sparse....but it 's early days yet.....but will be potting up yet another poppy - P.rupifragum, aforementioned ranunculus and cortusa, another go at the white willowherb, epilobium angustifolium album, yet more dark leaved angelica...to add to the purple carrot flowers and trachelium caeruleum...and finally, an interesting moraea huttonii.
