I wouldn't call it a true red, it's kind of the same color as Knock Out Rose. Other than that, it has all of the great qualities of 'Firewitch'.

If you want a really dark red, go for 'Heart Attack.' I've had it for two years so far and its stunning.

Yes - they are part of the Sweet William group. I didn't notice until after I posted that it was the wrong direction.

Still, a great looking plant that I highly recommend and a true perennial (unlike many Sweet Williams).

'Fire Star' is a lovely true, vivid red without any pink.
