Fall's Last Colors--November 2

I have been sharing pictures of my arbor garden. She's still putting on a show, but this may be the last week. These pictures were taken today.

Fothergilias are stealing the show right now.

And for some reason this mum just started blooming.

mollydog, that arbor and fence make a super lovely setting!

What are the plants blooming along the fence?

Looks so inviting...just feel like walking right through the fence opening to see what's on the other side of the arbor after admiring what's growing up the sides.

So pretty.

I live near Harrisburg. The flowers still blooming are Sheffield and Mary Stoker mums.

Arbo, I have never been to KC, pretty much every other one within a 100 mile radius, but not that one. When we built 22 years ago, our development was a cornfield...not a tree in sight.

Nice, especially the Fothergilla!

I love my Fothergillas. Love the scented blooms in the spring, foliage is attractive all summer, and the fall coloration is just WOW!!

My large clump of the mum "Hillside Pink Sheffield" is still loaded with flowers. We're having an unseasonably warm sunny day, and an amazing number and variety of bees and other flying insects are visiting the flowers - honeybees, metallic bronze and green creatures, and something that's elongated with a tan body and groups of sharply demarcated white spots.

Quite a show.

Other perennials that are still vibrant include Aster "Raydon's Favorite", plumbago (red foliage) and of course all the ornamental grasses. Plus I just noticed my small paperbark maple has turned nice shades of red - I'll have to go out for a closer look.
