| when there is Christmas music playing... And I wasn't the only one checking out the clearance nursery stock today, either. And it's too early for Christmas music anyway. What happened to the good 'ol days when the ONLY time one heard Christmas music was from the day after Thanksgiving through New Year? I want to enjoy fall and planting bulbs, mulching beds and putting the garden to bed, the scent of fireplaces burning on a crisp November evening and all the sights and scents that only come once a year in autumn and NOT all the Christmas BS already. BAH HUMBUG! |

| Yes. Christmas paraphernalia is big business for nurseries around here. |

| I have been thinking the same thing. They started with chrismis in October here. Is this just an American thing? It's annoying. Yes, our nurseries stay open here through the New Year and some are open all year with greenhouses and food, too...and birdfeeding and whatever holiday it is this month for which they can sell stuff. |

| My nursery is open year round too. They have wreaths up and big glitter bulbs everywhere. But the sales are so good I feel like it is Christmas morning so I really do not mind the music. But I am weird. I have been known to have Christmas music playing in my car in the Spring when I am on my way to the nursery to shop for things that I know I need to make my gardens pretty for the summer. lol Christmas is my favorite holiday so it cannot come soon enough for me. It seems to go by so fast. Everyone seems so happy and kind. The lights are the prettiest sight known. So my joy of plants and my joy of Christmas should be all year long.

| Sounds like a good reason to me to stay out of stores for the next few weeks. Hope that ends up being possible, except checking the Thanksgiving cactus situation of course. I can't shop under such adverse conditions, and will buy no seasonal crud until it's a proper time to do so.
