| Anyone know what happened to Mindy's "Monty Python" thread? Did the Higher Powers delete or move it because of the title? It was a talk about plants, don't see why it went bye-bye.
I looked at both the Gallery and Conversation sides and it was not moved there. Last time I looked there were 8 posts on it, on from me an hour or two ago. This is annoying! I wanted to hear the ending, lol!

Ahhh, you must have missed the glory days of Spike when he or she owned Garden Web. Threads and sometimes even GW members got deleted when they went where Spike did not allow. And I must say he or she was pretty reasonable, tho others would probably disagree. The most common punishment was being "sent to Disney"--someone else can explain. I never got sent to Disney but I did get a nice little warning in my email box one morning. Those were the days....

Ginny12 - Hey, now I want to know what you did to get the warning :b I *think* when one got sent to Disney what would happen is when they tried to get onto the board, they were automatically re-directed to the Disney website instead LOL!

Wow, that seems a little harsh. I am assuming it was some minor thing and you wern't swearing up a storm, right Ginny? ;-) I used the Search engine yesterday to see if I could find the post and it was there- but it only showed three posts, not eight. Now I CAN see how maybe the title could be taken as 'OT'. And I could understand them moving it over to the Conversation side of the forum, but not removing it completely. Garden related subjects were talked about, nothing spam-ish or inappropriate about it. Rather unfair! I wanted to hear what kind of Ginko Mindy had, lol! CMK

Wish I could remember what I said/did--it was pretty innocent--maybe just being OT--but Spike told me firmly but pleasantly that whatever it was should not be done again. He let me off as a first offense, I guess. No trip to Disney.

Just a thought... The use of certain words or terms in the post, in association with the character, may have been interpreted as copyright infringement and was removed to avoid legal issues. They do monitor content of the posts and all 3-4 letter expletives, plus any other offensive language is unacceptable and will be removed and that could possibly include the offender! Use of the Forums for self-promotion (sales) and acting as a shill for a business, by making grandiose claims about their products, will also lead to missing posts. Have seen that happen! |

I can't imagine that referring to a character in some casual discussion would be seen as copyright infringement.
RE: Post deleted?

I'm guessing it had more to do with sponsored links:
Here is a link that might be useful: See attached GW search

I don't know how it is they could get delete-happy about a tv show and yet still pass up posts that name Dave's G. And I just saw a post the other day elsewhere that had the word 'cr*p' in it WITH the 'a'. When I use to frequent the Readers forum there seemed to be an advertisement post every week or so and they never got deleted. -mmqchdygg, whenever I search for something the sponsored links always seem to be related in some way to what I typed in. If you search 'Geranium' the links will often be about Geraniums. Maybe Mindy will know what happened to it... CMK

I got Disneyed a couple of times - when one exhibited proper remorse, one was allowed back into The Fold. And that parrot is not dead, it's resting.

No, it's not. It's pining for the fjords.
