Still Blooming on Thanksgiving!

I can't believe this thing is still green and blooming! My other mums have been brown to a crisp for a couple weeks now.

Its been in the low 20s low several times, including 22 degrees a couple days ago.

Here is Sheffield Mum (from Bluestone)

Very nice. The last of my hardy mums didn't quite make it to Thanksgiving. This seed-raised rose (R. chinensis minima) has continued blooming right on through Thanksgiving, ignoring our first heavy frosts (down to the low-mid 20s):

I've got some alyssum and snapdragons still blooming, and that's about it. I have some mums that still have the flowers on them, but I'm not sure if you could call them "still blooming" lol!

Nice pics!

Whaas I have the same Sheffield mums (from Bluestone also) and they are still looking amazing.

I thought I had lost everything after we received the surprise 10 inches of snow in October but they made it through unscathed after the snow melted...just less upright haha.

I got them from Bluestone, too, and now they are all over my yarden - spread nicely. It is December, and they are still blooming in rather shady areas.
BTW, if anyone want some - I will be happy to share.

RE: Still Blooming on Thanksgiving!

I have a NOID hardy mum that was planted in a fall pot last year and wintered over and rebloomed this fall. Two days after Thanksgiving I cut the still lovely blooms and put the pot in the garage to overwinter.

Two other plants that have been blooming through the frosts are gaillardia 'Burgundy' and my primroses. I checked yesterday and the primroses still have some nice blossoms but the gaillardia looks done.
