I was thinking about adding this to my garden next year. I'd like to hear your experiences with growing this plant.

Thank You

These are late season bloomers compared to most Thalictrum. They produce mostly low, basal clumps of foliage and then tallish, airy corymbs of white or tiny purple flowers in late summer......HD looks kind of like a tall, pale purple-pink baby's breath :-) In bloom for a long time - maybe 6-8 weeks. Mine grows in mostly sun in enriched garden soil and gets regular summer watering.

What else would you like to know?

That's all I need to know. Can we trade next year??

Not to be persnickety but isn't it 'Miss Hewitt's Double'? And who was Miss Hewitt who had this pretty plant named for her?

I grew this not too successfully because I crowded the young plants. I switched to T. rochebrunianum and am a big fan of it. I have had them eight feet tall some years. All thalictrums seem to want adequately moist soil--some like it almost wet. I love thalictrums--so airy--but mine all need staking.

No "Miss" - just 'Hewitt's Double' :-) From a selection of Yunan meadow rue made by Hewitt Nursery in Warwickshire.

And sorry, but no trades available. This was in my former garden that I moved from earlier this season.
