Okay gardeners. Santa is coming and he promised to bring good gardeners everywhere whatever they ask for (at least according to this thread!).
So what's on your Christmas wish list. Price is no object.

Ok, any one of David Goode's creations. Not fussy you understand but my favorite is Warty Slug Muncher.

Here is a link that might be useful: David Goode bronzes

A REAL greenhouse. You know, the fantastic creations you see in the English Gardening magazines? Also need the neighbors yard in order to have the greenhouse (no room here)- which is a bonus since I would have the extra space for plants ;-)

Ooh, well if we are going there. I'd like a Calder mobile. I know just where it is going after Santa delivers it.

A Chihuly glass sculpture would probably just break the first time we got a hail storm. I've actually see those with price tags, but don't have a foyer to show it off. So that why I don't have one - no place to put it.

I'd like about 200 new hosta to fit amongst the 200 ferns and 100 hellebore my new dream shade gardens would call for. But that's the easy part. I'd also like the garden space - tilled, and raked and ready for the new plants. Soil must be prepared to my exacting standards.
While the soil is being prepared, I would like to spend a long springtime in the south. I'd start in the desert when the spring rains bring the flowering show, and gradually work my way north and east, so I could experience as many springs as possible. Eventually, I'd arrive back home in our own northern spring to contemplate the new garden space. I'd dream about it for a few weeks, twig the design for another few, and then actually plant the new plants. In the meantime, I'd enjoy the hundreds of varieties of peonies I had planted throughout my dream property. I have peonies and some very nice ones too, but I can never devote the garden space I'd like to to a plant that has such a short bloom season, but provides so much beauty in bloom.
By the way Santa, I've just started.

If money were no object I'd like a bigger yard to garden in.

Santa, I have several more wishes for myself and my garden. But right now, I'd wish for a garden for all those who need one. Peace and merry Christmas.

RE: My Christmas wish

Temperate weather for 2012 and beyond. No more earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or devastating early-season snowstorms. We had 'em all this year and my little green acre really took a beating. I'd be obliged if Santa just brought more normal weather, while at the same time realizing that using the terms "normal weather" and "New England" in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

I would like a giant machine to come here , take the top soil up and shake/mix it well with some good clay, so it could keep some water. Some of my flower beds are bone dry after one day of strong sunshine when combined with wind. I could use at least 50% more space than I have now to spread my rhododendrons better and to make a special bed for late autumn flowering plants.
