Hibiscus covered with ash or mud (volcanic or tsunami) followed by a bloom.

Wow, that is brilliant.

The picture was taken on a tropical island of Indonesia. They just had a volcano eruption. The flower just opened after the eruption. The icy items are actually volcanic ash.

Are these volcanic ash very fertile and suitable for many crops? Hmm ...

That was my thought too, Volcanic ash.

There are certain circumstances where it is likely harmful (especially if there is enough ash to smother established forests say), but in general I believe volcanic ash is pretty good for replenishing minerals back into the soil.

Interesting for sure, but don't want one (a neighbourhood volcano that is).
